Donna got in to strength training when she decided to take part in a deadlift only challenge at the Forge Gym. Not only did she fall in love with competing but she won Women's Best Lifter and Women's Best Deadlift! She was then asked to give Strongwoman a go in a British International after these amazing results.

Donna went on to compete in British International Most Powerful Woman 2012. There were two classes for the Women under 75 kg and over 75 kg. Every discipline was Last Woman Standing, so that some women competed 3–6 times in every event! Donna was competing in the over 75kg and finished 4th in her first Strongwoman competition. She went on to compete in Northwest Strongest Woman and again placed well coming 3rd! Then her best result came at British International Most Powerful (World Championship Qualifier) she place 2nd. Highest of the British athletes and qualified for the world championships in Finland Nov 2013. The events where:
Always up of a challenge she tried her hand at Highland games one of the oldest strength sports most recently World Highlander Challenge August 2013 at Glasgow Green. This is a tournament that marries traditional Highland Games with more contemporary strength athletics. She has done very well in highland games with very little training.
