Jon started his training in 2009. His first race was a charity place in the London marathon and did a fantastic time of 3 hours 46 minutes! From there he joined a local running club the Maidstone Harriers and the SRC (Sweatshop Running Club). He entered the club championships which consists of nine races - distances between 10km up to half marathon. By the time Jon had ran seven of the races he had a massive lead and could not be caught and so won the championship!
Jon's first Duathlon was in London, Richmond Park. Jon entered the standard distance which consists of 10km run, 20km bike and 5km run and achieved 16th overall and 4th in age Group from over 1500 starters, again a massive achievement for his first duathlon.
Over the past three years he has competed in over 100 races across the UK and Europe, achieving two wins and over 20 top ten finishes.
